3 Ways to Save Money on Printer Cartridges

If you have to buy printer cartridges frequently, you may be spending quite a bit of money. The printers are cheap, but the cartridges are expensive. If you want to outsmart the printer companies, you have to use a little ingenuity, and the following are some effective tactics for saving money on printer cartridges.
Many people have to replace their printer cartridges more often than necessary because they print carelessly, without proofreading their documents first. If you do a lot of printing, this can add up very quickly. All you have to do is check your document thoroughly on the screen before printing which will reduce the number of rough drafts or erroneous documents you have to print. If your document is in Word, don't forget to use the spellchecking tool before you print. Make sure to adjust the settings on your printer. You may be able to cut the number of pages you print in half or more just by making sure that the document is really ready for printing. What's the point in having hard copies of pages that you just throw away?
Use your printer i the most economical way possible. Frequent bouts of turning your printer off and back on can cause ink to be wasted. Turning your machine on causes many of them to instantly clean the print head. You will need to be aware of this if your printer has this function. Most people turn their printers off to save a tad bit of energy, it's more costly to do this becuase you'll spend more money on ink this way. Pay attention to your paper settings too these can cause ink to be used improperly. Make sure your paper setting fits the type of paper you are using.
If you print primarily black and white you may want to set your printer to use this instead of color to save ink. Color is more expensive that black and white which means this setting is costing you alot of money. You need to consider whether or not you really need color to begin with. If not then consider a black and white printer. You are probably wasting more color than you know with advertisements you don't need printed. It's fine to print in color if you really need it, but if you print in black more often, it will cost a lot less to replace your cartridges. There are plenty of options available to you to save money even if you have no say in the rising costs of printer cartridges. You need to be as economical as possible when printing and also to shop around a little so you can find cheap replacement cartridges. If you keep the previous suggestions in mind when you are looking for replacement cartridges and when you print, you will be able to save a fair amount of cash.
